First of all, I would like to share my views and knowledge about yoga, this philosophy and lifestyle that allows us to access places in our minds that were not possible for us before.
Everyone must already, at some point in their lives, have heard or had some experience or known that they had or have an addiction to yoga.
As it is no longer new to anyone, yoga is an ancient philosophy that has traveled through time.
Nowadays, yoga presents itself as the most admirable method of integral re-education, surpassing in every line other processes and attempts to harmonize the being.
As an integral method, yoga harmonizes, balances and perfects all the envelopes of the being, that is, our physical body that allows us to walk and move, our energy body responsible for our vital energy, emotion, mind and spirit – Atman.
It is not a religion in the common sense of the term, as it does not involve rituals and does not allow the organization of brotherhoods.
Philosophy of life
We can say that it is a philosophy of life, a lifestyle adopted in the modern world by many, not only in the East but also in the West. Yoga has gained many adherents and practitioners in recent years.
Knowing that to practice true yoga it is necessary to experience it in all layers of the being, as we know that yoga when practiced only in the physical body will come to gymnastics and cease to be yoga, becoming just an asana (posture) and nothing more of this.
In asana it is necessary to align and harmonize the physical body as well as all the layers of the emotional, mental and spiritual body.
We achieve all this through not only the practice of asanas, but also through kryas, pranayama and meditation, thus reaping the benefits of yogasana.
The vast majority start practicing yogasana, the postures, for practical reasons, and often physical. Perhaps they have a health problem such as back pain, sports injuries, high blood pressure, arthritis.
Or have a broader desire, such as improving the quality of sleep, life or getting rid of stress, anxiety, some addiction and melancholy.
Yoga beyond the physical
Rare people start on the path of yoga because they consider a way or path to attain spiritual enlightenment.
When the asana is no longer just a posture, we can understand the true nature of the being. And when we let go of our physical impediments, mental and emotional distractions, we live with a soul.
For that, we stopped practicing the asana only physically, and started to integrate our breathing, with the mind, consciousness and our essence.
And so we can in this way experience authentic integration and achieve freedom through yoga.
